BEHIND THE MUSIC

Okay so I am going to start a new thing on my blog..  I LOVE MUSIC... so I am going to do my own version of Behind the Music. Basically- why a specific song reminds me of a time, person, or event in my life. The first featured song is number one on my Playlist.
The first song that I am going to feature is Under the Bridge by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. When I was like 13 or 14, my cousin and I went to stay at our cousins house and babysit the younger kids while my Aunt was at Girls Camp. They were trying to sell their house at the time so they put up a tent trailer in the driveway for the two of us to sleep in at night, and keep all of our suitcases, etc... Which is fine unless you are a total boy crazy teenager with a cute guy down the street- whose cousin was staying with them while HIS mom was at Girls camp. Now, I was a pretty good kid, but it was so easy to sneak out, make-out... anyway this song was on the radio all the time that summer and it will forever remind me of Bakersfield at night and M. J... (I do know his name but not fair to put it in here. We knew each other and were friends since we were tiny...) Anyway, my cousins moved to Santa Maria soon after that and I have not been to Bakersfield since, nor seen him, although my aunt is still in contact with his family. Actually we both got married the exact same weekend almost  10 years ago... and No, he is not a Facebook friend- some things are just way cuter staying in the past. Alison- remember his cousin and how so NOT interested you were? Ahh, good memories.... you are totally laughing now, huh?
So stay tuned for Bouncing Around the Room... I was going to do it first but I want to scan some pictures first so I can REALLY illustrate that one...

So releaved to know I wasn't the only 14 yr old girl who stayed at people's house and took advantage of that by making out with boys!

I knew strait away who MJ is and when you were talking about... I would be interested to know Ali's take on that situation, now looking back. :)
