The 4th of July

Liam

When I was little, we had a block party every 4th of July. (My parents have moved since then..) but we would decorate our bikes and have a bike parade, play dumb games, and potluck later.. To me, that is how the 4TH is SUPPOSED to be.. so after two rather disappointing 4th of July's- I finally got a good one!! The night before we watched the HB stake 4th of July program which Noah thought was fantastic, and they are trying to recruit him for it next year... Then on the 4th we walked down to the HB city parade - it is the oldest- continuous - parade in the US (supposedly)- during which we bar-b-qued at a friend of my parents whose house faces the parade route.. then we had a block party complete with bike parade, dumb games, a potluck- and they stepped it up with some bounce houses, a D.J. , and a taco wagon... then we walked down to the beach and watched the fireworks they set off the HB pier.. the whole thing was so great and why the 4th is one of my favorite holidays!!

Colin worked late every night and was too tired to drive Thurs. night so he made it in time for the block party on the 4th. Here he is with Liam in front of my parents house..

The end of my parents block before block party began.. the D.J. wasn't there yet..

All of them- actually looking at the camera..

Rowan is that kid who will actually sport the star glasses and think it is hilarious..

Liam started to rock on his hands and knees 4th of July week..

We brought the kids bikes down just so they could ride them in the parade (and for Noah to show grandma and grandpa how well he rides..) and decorated them that morning..
Ryan was fooling around with my camera and took this one of Colin and I

Noah trying to play ping pong

Cupcakes...
The kids had so much fun!! We had fun. It was everything that the 4th of July is supposed to be and I am so glad that my kids got to experience it!!

That looks like so much fun. Your kids look so cute in their outfits. When Kelsey and I were waiting for fireworks we started talking about the good old HB stake program. The good old days! I have been watching this Bride show on Sunday mornings that Sister Christensen's daughter Heather hosts-that brings back some freshman year seminary memories! Remember serving at her wedding?

Great pictures!
Looks like fun. We were too wiped from the wedding to do anything really great for the 4th.

I sent your pictures with Kathryn. I didn't get a ton...but there are some pretty cute ones. Wish we would have had some more time. And...you don't owe me anything. I Just hope you like some of them.

Keep taking pictures, they look great! Send me an email so I can invite you to our blog.

Thanks for the invite to the block party! Ha! Ha!
Bummed I didn't meet up with you guys at the beach house. Life here has been a bit crazy!! When do you plan to come visit again?

Cute pics Jaime! We stayed here for the 4th and it was kind of a let down! No ward breakfasts or neighborhood parades just scorching heat!! Next year I will be buying my kids swim suits instead of outfits since swimming is the only thing to do on the 4th here! Your kids look so cute and festive! Glad you had a fun trip!
